A MAN has been banned from driving after he drove a lorry in a car park while over the alcohol limit, a court heard.
Ian Price, of Edwards Road in Amesbury, got behind the wheel of a Volvo "heavy articulated tractor" in the town's central car park on July 24, 2023.
Price was stopped and breathalysed by police who found 47 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal driving limit is just 35 microgrammes.
Price pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Friday, January 19.
He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, which can be reduced by 14 weeks if he completes a drink-driving awareness course.
Magistrates also fined him £120 and ordered him to play £85 court costs as well as a £48 surcharge to fund victim services.
