BOURNE Valley residents have been told to prepare for flooding.
The Government issued the warning on Friday, January 19, after the groundwater level at the Clarendon borehole peaked.
Flooding of roads and some properties across the Winterbournes is expected to gradually recede throughout the coming week.
Sewage systems may remain "problematic" over the next few days, the Government said.
Residents have been told to keep flood defences, such as pumps and barriers, deployed as there may be a delayed response.
A level two flood warning urging people to act remains in place.
The advice to people in the affected area is to turn off gas, water and electricity, move things upstairs or to safety and move family, pets and cars to safety.
A spokesperson for the UK Government said: "Driving through flood water will be especially dangerous as temperatures will drop to below freezing at times over the next week and will cause ice to form on roads.
"The bow wave from vehicles can flood adjacent properties and lead to icing of pavements."
An update is expected on Monday, January 22, or if the situation changes.
