A MAN who was caught driving dangerously by an off-duty police officer will not immediately be going to prison.
Henry Feltham-Bray, of Parsonage Road in Amesbury, sped along the A338 at Winterbourne Gunner at speeds of around 90 miles per hour.
The 23-year-old drove recklessly through Winterbourne Dauntsey on August 18, 2023, when he was seen veering over the single-lane carriageway and almost colliding with oncoming vehicles.
He also illegally overtook an off-duty police officer on solid white lines.
Feltham-Bray has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and must take an extended test after the officer's dashcam footage led to his identification.
On Thursday, January 18, Feltham-Bray was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, at Salisbury Magistrates Court after he pleaded to dangerous driving.
Magistrates thought the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
He must also pay £85 court costs, a £154 victim surcharge and complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
