Silver Salisbury has announced that it will continue with reminiscence and intergenerational projects after the amount of positive feedback received from the Jubilee intergenerational project in 2022, in which people were encouraged to share their experiences about the Queen’s Coronation.
The book From King to Queen: The story of a child of the 1950s was the result, and Silver Salisbury has now expressed interest in a new, similar project.
Silver Salisbury said in a statement: “Thanks to a grant from the Salisbury Area Board, we are pleased to invite you to take part.

“The project will involve meeting up with Ruth Hill, our facilitator, to explore and define the project. The project will include visiting a group of primary school children, reading from the book and contrasting and comparing your childhood stories and experiences.”
Anyone aged 60 or over who would like to take part has been asked to email their expression of interest to Silver Salisbury with “Reminiscence” in the subject line. Anyone without email has been asked to call 01722 323812 and leave a message with their name and phone number.
Silver Salisbury has also launched a search for a new member of the team who can lead and support volunteer programmes. The organisation is seeking someone familiar with Salisbury, Amesbury, Durrington, Wilton and surrounding villages. The pay would be £15 an hour for approximately seven hours per week. Those interested should email a CV to Irene Kohler with “Volunteer” in the subject line before Monday, February 12.
