A PHOTOGRAPHER has started a project with the aim of capturing all of Salisbury's pubs and clubs on camera.
James Terry, 46, was born in Salisbury and grew up in Alderbury.
He told the Journal he has been interested in photography for as long as he can remember, and he is now the resident photographer for The Chapel nightclub and Bar Botanic.
Mr Terry, who now lives in Amesbury, started this project in October 2019.
He said: "The Pubs and Bars of Salisbury project was born from an image I took of the then, Vestry Bar in Milford Street. I had been photographing an event in The Vestry when I went for a wander around town and when I returned, I noticed the lighting was perfect on it.
"I took the photo and the rest is history as they say. I’ve always loved black and white photography and felt that this style lent itself perfectly to the project. I also think that this is a good way to record the history of pubs and bars in Salisbury as there are so many that have come and gone over the years."
Some of the pubs photographed, such the Five Bells and the George and Dragon, look different to when the pictures were first taken, having had a lick of paint since then.
