AN Audi driver who was caught over the drink-drive limit has been fined more than £1,800.
Catalin Prodan, of Laverstock Road, drove an Audi A4 along Catherine Street on May 7 with almost twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The 35-year-old had 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath while the limit is 35 microgrammes.
Despite pleading not guilty on June 2, Prodan was found guilty at a Swindon Magistrates Court hearing on January 5.
He was disqualified from driving for 17 months which can be reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a drink-driving awareness course.
Prodan was fined £865 and ordered to pay costs of £650 and a £345 surcharge.
In total, he must pay £1,860 before February 4, 2024.
