A power outage in Sixpenny Handley left some customers without power for more than six hours.
The unplanned outage at approximately 1.40pm on Tuesday, January 2, during a period of inclement weather and flooding, leaving around 1,800 customers without power for at least three-and-a-half hours.
Power was restored to most people later in the afternoon but other customers were left without electricity for an extra three hours.

A spokesperson for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said: “Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks’ (SSEN) engineers responded to a report of wires down, which was affecting power supplies to customers in Sixpenny Handley and the surrounding areas.
“Supplies were interrupted to some 1,800 customers from 1:40pm on Tuesday, January 2, with engineers switching customers to unaffected circuits, enabling them to quickly and safely restore power to the majority of customers by 5:10pm.
“The remaining 43 customers were back on supply by 8:25pm that same day and SSEN thanks them for their patience while work was carried out to safely reconnect them.”
