AN Extinction Rebellion activist has plastered an explicit message on a bus stop in a bid to "reverse weaponised psychology".
The Google Pixel 8 advertisement in question was put on a bus stop billboard at the bottom of Devizes Road and the 'subvert' reads 'Advertising s***s in your head!'.
A QR code linking to a handbook teaching people how to deface advertisements has been stuck below the message with the instructions 'use this space, open and subvert'.
The handbook, compiled by Don Coyote and Charles Chester CBE, was created as part of Extinction Rebellion's weekend of resistance in October 2022.
It shares details of the tools needed to break into bus stop ads and even suggests people wear a hi-vis jacket to blend in.
The image of the bus stop was uploaded to a Salisbury social media group and it has been met with disapproval.
Salisbury City Councillor Paul Sample encouraged anyone with complaints to contact the Advertising Standards Authority.
Extinction Rebellion Salisbury has been contacted for more information.
