Residents and staff celebrated Christmas in style at Milford House Care Home in Salisbury with a visit from Santa and his little elf helper starting things off on Christmas Eve. With a groaning sleigh full of presents, Santa visited every resident accompanied by his elf before setting off on his travels again.
The highlight on Christmas Day was the traditional turkey meal with all the trimmings, in dining rooms with beautifully decorated tables decked with colour and crackers to pull at the end of the meal, along with the obligatory groan-worthy jokes.
General manager Gemma Hicks said: "Christmas is such a special time at the home and our staff go all out to make it as vibrant and fun as possible for our residents and visitors.
"We have had a full programme of events starting from the very beginning of the month and that will continue right through to the New Year.
"Everywhere you look in the home there are gorgeous Christmas trees and decorations and I have never seen the dining rooms look more festive.
"I think the happy smiles on the faces of the residents and staff that I see around the home say it all – it has been a truly special time here at Milford and we wish everyone all the best for a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year."
