A MAN who was caught driving over the legal alcohol limit without a valid licence has been banned from the roads for almost four years.
Ayaz Selcuk, 36, of Jewell Close, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW in Galahad Close while over the drink-drive limit and disqualified from holding a licence for a previous offence.
He was stopped by police on August 20 who conducted a breathalyser test and found 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of Selcuk's breath. The legal limit is 35.
Basingstoke Magistrates Court banned Selcuk from obtaining a licence for 40 months for the drink-driving offence and a further six months for driving while disqualified on November 30.
He must complete a total of 15 days' rehabilitation and magistrates fined him £200. Selcuk must also pay £85 in costs.
