Salisbury’s newest restaurant serving traditional Indian and Nepalese cuisine has opened its doors.
Gurkha Kitchen, on South Western Road, had a special opening ceremony on Monday night (December 11), when a ribbon was cut by Salisbury mayor Atiqul Hoque outside the business.
Mr Hoque has known the leaders of the new restaurant, Rajan Sapkota and Pasand Nurbha, for many years, having previously worked with them at Hox Brasserie before his departure from the business and its renaming to Everest Brasserie.

Having run Everest Brasserie together for four years, Rajan and Pasand decided it was time for expansion and that the empty location on South Western Road was suitable.
Rajan began his career at fine dining restaurants in India before working in Dubai and moving to Salisbury 16 years ago.
He said Gurkha Kitchen will be different from Everest Brasserie in its cuisine.
Rajan said: “Everest Brasserie is a traditional Indian curry house, while [Gurkha Kitchen] is authentic Nepalese food.”
