With the Christmas season fast approaching, Wiltshire Council has announced when its services will close.

Wiltshire Council services, which encompass all parts of the county except Swindon, will be closed on Christmas day, Boxing day and New years day.

But for the rest of the festive period, opening times will vary so you’ll need to plan ahead.

Waste collections:

As well as the service-wide bank holiday closures, Wiltshire Council’s garden waste collections will cease for two weeks over Christmas, with the last collections taking place on Friday, December 22, 2023.

The service will resume on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, when the collection day will be a day later than normal.

Leisure centres:

Opening times for each individual leisure centre in Wiltshire will vary, so customers are being urged to check individual opening times on Wiltshire Council’s leisure and sports centres page.

Normal opening times will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Libraries:

Between December 27 to December 30, 2023, Wiltshire Council’s libraries will open mostly as normal.

However, libraries that would normally be open in the evening will close at 5pm, or as usual if due to close earlier.

Information, including the variations for individual libraries, can be found on the Wiltshire Council website.

Normal opening times will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2023.

Customer Services buildings:

All Wiltshire Council customer service desks and hub buildings will be open from Wednesday, December 27 to Friday, December 29 between 9am to 5pm.

Although the main reception desks will be staffed during this period, hub staffing is likely to be limited.

Normal opening hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
