Wiltshire Council has approved an application that would see the former Tisbury Sports Centre demolished and replaced with 13 homes.
The site is located on Weaveland Road in Tisbury, a village approximately 13 miles west of Salisbury.
The former sports centre is adjacent to St Johns Primary School and the Nadder Centre, and has been unoccupied since the opening of the latter in 2016.
The proposals include a mix of private and affordable housing and are deemed to be a significant improvement of the underutilised land.
Wiltshire Council also approved an outline planning application for 14 new houses this week, on land adjacent to Warren’s Folly, on Larkhill Road in Durrington.
Another outline application for two new homes was also given the go ahead on land north of Frome Road in Southwick.
