CHRISTMAS has arrived in a Wiltshire village as the lights were switched on.
Mere held its Christmas Illuminations event on December 1 with Father Christmas in attendance with free presents.
George Jeans said: " The weather was crisp as should be for The Christmas period, "snow" fell on The Town Clock Island. The lights were switched on by the Carnival Princess Hermione Buck. Ukes at The Butt played and added much to the atmosphere."
Mere Preschool also got into the festive spirit and held its Christmas Market and Winter Wonderland on December 2.
George added: "Many attended the weather was dry and cold."
