The Salisbury Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and the Sarum Concern for Israel and Palestine held a candlelight vigil in front of Salisbury Library as part of a nationwide campaign.
The vigil was part of more than 100 local events held across the UK on Saturday, November 18 instead of a single march in London. The next large, centralised march in London will take place on Saturday, November 25.
A spokesperson for Salisbury CND said: “The humanitarian disaster is appalling to witness. Our politicians must join the worldwide effort to bring about a ceasefire, without delay.”
Multiple groups, including the Stop the War Coalition, have organised numerous protests across the UK in the weeks since the Israel-Gaza war began in October.
On Tuesday, November 21, the Stop the War Coalition will hold a protest in Edinburgh urging the Scottish Parliament to vote in favour of a ceasefire.
