THE Mayor's Appeal took on a Bollywood theme at the fundraising event which took place this week.
The event, which was sold out, took place at the Old Railway Hotel in Porton on Thursday, November 10.
Guests enjoyed a three-course Indian meal which was accompanied by Bollywood music and dance.
Funds raised at the event support the Mayor's charities, which for 2023-24 is the Charities of Salisbury and Wilton Rotary Clubs, Salisbury Hospice and Wilton Riding for the Disabled Association.
Mayor Councillor Atiqul Hoque said: "It was a spectacular night. The majority of guests came in traditional Bollywood dress which was superb."
Cllr Hoque hopes to host another bigger Bollywood night at a larger venue in the future.
The Old Railway Hotel has recently welcomed Muhammed Aktaruzzaman as its new manager, and has been given "a new lease of life".
Salisbury MP John Glen said: “I would like to congratulate the mayor on his energetic fundraising. “It was great to see so many people coming together in support of such worthy local causes.”
Mr Glen and Cllr Hoque were also joined by the Mayor of Amesbury Dr Monica Devendran and other local dignitaries.
It is not yet known how much money was raised on the night, but the Mayor's Appeal has raised around £16,000 in the last six months for the chosen charities.
