A DORSET campsite has been crowned as the most improved in a national survey. 

Back of Beyond Touring Park in St Leonards has been crowned as AA’s Most Improved Campsite of the Year. 

The annual AA Caravan and Camping Awards see inspectors search for 12 of the best sites in the UK.

Awards are handed out to campsites based on their “exceptional quality and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction”. 

The inspector for Back Beyond Touring Park said: “This campsite has been consistently renewing and upgrading the facilities at their lovely adults-only park close to the New Forest and Bournemouth on the Hampshire and Dorset border, investing and improving every facet of the business to broaden the appeal to a wider audience with the addition of excellent glamping pods, shepherd’s huts, cabins and a yurt, to ensure a memorable customer experience.”
