WITH a theme of ‘Secret Spots of Salisbury’, a convoy of scooters, power chair, and walking volunteers set off from the Salisbury Motability Shop in the Maltings earlier this month.
Participants followed a route which included the Marketplace, Fish Row, Catherine Street, Exeter Street, Churchill Gardens, St Nicholas and the Cathedral Close on Wednesday, October 4.

The oldest scooter participant was 101 years old, and he made his way round the whole route on his own scooter. The event was organised to coincide with Silver Salisbury’s Festival Fortnight and participants finished up at Shopmobility and had a warming drink, a Gregg’s sausage roll, and home-made cakes.
Salisbury Shopmobility’s aim is to help anyone with mobility issues. Scooters, wheelchairs, power chairs, and shop walkers can be hired.
