PEOPLE on TripAdvisor have expressed their dissatisfaction with a nearby branch of KFC.

Amesbury KFC, in Solstice Park, is the worst-ranked branch near Salisbury, with 1.5 stars out of 5.

Despite the branch having a 5-star hygiene rating, as of January 5, 2022, customers have been far from impressed with the quality of food served in the fast food restaurant.

The five most recent reviews on TripAdvisor highlight concerns from customers who have visited the restaurant.

'Dirty, Bad Service, Missing items'

One customer left a review on July 13, 2023, entitled 'Dirty, Bad Service, Missing items'.

They used a Star Wars quote to describe their experience: "Never have experienced such a wretched hive of scum and villainy."

They added: "Not once have they got an order correct. Never leave without checking your order against your receipt, they either place incorrect items or indeed miss entire items on every occasion.

"The toilets are foul and my daughter had to hold the door closed as there was no lock fitted to the door."

'Bad dining trip'

Another customer left a review on April 11, 2023, entitled 'Bad dining trip.'

They said: "The only good thing is the car park.

"Served by unprofessional looking staff who were too busy chatting amongst themselves to even acknowledge our request for serviettes.

"When finally got an answer was told they had run out of them. How the hell can somewhere that serves fried finger food run out of serviettes?"

'Absolutely disgusting'

A different customer review, posted on February 19, 2023, was entitled 'Absolutely disgusting'.

They said: "Had chicken that had an extreme amount of mould on it."

Pictures posted with this review show a grey discolouring to the chicken, which does appear to be mould. 

They added: "I would never eat here again."

'Consistently bad'

Another review left on TripAdvisor on December 31, 2022, was entitled 'Consistently bad'.

It reads: "We have visited this conveniently located KFC a few times over the last few years, it’s always been bad and after this last visit, will be the last.

"Overflowing bins, dirty tables, male toilet out of order, the other toilets dirty, no toilet roll in the ladies.

"I was given the wrong order, the chap next to me was given a cup of hot water with no tea bag in, (and) other customers were exchanging incorrect items in their orders.

"The food was at least average but this branch will be avoided permanently from us now."

'Food cold - not recommend'

The fifth most recent review was entitled 'Food cold - not recommend'.

It reads: "Food was cold, took burger back to replace, replacement burger was the exact same COLD.

"Chips also stone cold and had to order replacement.

"Would not recommend."

A KFC spokesperson told the Journal: "The Colonel is passionate about his food always being finger lickin’ good, so we’re sorry to see these reviews.

"We have strict processes in place to ensure the quality and hygiene standards of all our restaurants and KFC Solstice Park has a 5-star EHO rating.

"That said, we always encourage our fans to get in touch when things don’t go to plan – and we’ll work hard to make things right."
