HERE are some great places to visit in and around Salisbur this half-term.
Time has flown by and half-term is already just around the corner, we know that it can be pretty difficult to decide what to do to entertain the kids this time of year, so let us help you out.
There are a number of spooky events in and around Salisbury this autumn, from ghost tours to arts and crafts.
Here is a list of five activities in and around the town to enjoy this Halloween half-term:
1. 'Mystery of the Stones' at Stonehenge
One of the all-time classic days out near Salisbury, Stonehenge never disappoints.
This half-term, English Heritage is hosting a Sherlock Holmes-themed 'Mystery of the Stones' event, where visitors can find out whether the 'great man' can discover the true origin of Stonehenge
This fun pop-up play, suitable for all visitors, will take place at Stonehenge Visitor Centre at regular times throughout the day.
The event will run from October 21 to November 5.

2. Parson's Pumpkin Patch
Parsons' Farming, in North Tidworth, is opening its pumpkin picking patch for the fourth year running on Saturday, October 7.
This year there are more Halloween-themed displays and there's an excellent selection of pumpkins to choose from.
Offering a "traditional Halloween atmosphere", the pick-your-own area is decorated with straw bales, scarecrows, spiders and much more, with the promise of "surprises".
Mini wheelbarrows are at the ready for your little pumpkin pickers.
The patch will be open from October 14 to October 28.

3. Cholderton 'Scare Breeds Farm'
What could be more fun for Halloween than visiting animals on a farm?
Cholderton Rare Breeds farm is offering a number of spooky activities this Halloween half-term.
Kids and adults who turn up in full fancy dress will receive a free child return ticket valid from the New Year, plus a free bag of animal food.
Visitors can meet the farm's "freaky friends" and grab some fabulous photos.
A wizards and witches broomstick making workshop will be available to participate in, while a Halloween party also available to book.
The main Halloween events will take place from October 21 to October 31, while the Halloween party will take place on October 28.

4. Rifles Museum trail and ghost hunt
The museum is an "extremely haunted" place, where you are "very likely to encounter ghostly activity."
With books flying from shelves, heavy footsteps coming from empty rooms and even the apparition of a woman who is seen on a regular basis by staff.
This scary, and educational event will allow visitors to have an "honest opportunity" to experience ghostly activity.
The ghost hunt will take place on October 27, from 7pm to 2am.
As well as this, visitors can complete a trail to find the Museum's mascot, Bobbie, and his pals who have gone missing.
Using the clues, visitors must navigate the "spooky trail" and help to track them down.
This traile will take place from October 19, to October 28.

5. Spooky Salisbury's Horrible History walks
Salisbury has an "amazing collection of ghosts", join the search and listen to "spine-chilling tales of hauntings and gruesome happenings from the City’s past."
These tours include tales of witches, wizards, ghosts and the violent death of the Duke of Buckingham plus much more.
The 'Horrible History walks' will take place on Friday, October 27.
