THESE nine people were sentenced in court after committing criminal offences in and around Salisbury.

Thomas Farrant, of Courtwood Lodges in Sandleheath, pleaded guilty to drink driving after he was involved in a crash on February 20.

Farrant drove along Station Road in Fordingbridge while he had more than twice the drink-drive limit amount of alcohol in his blood.

Portsmouth Magistrates Court sentenced him to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, six weeks of alcohol rehabilitation, 20 RAR days and ordered him to pay £239 on September 27.

Farrant was also disqualified from driving for 46 months.

Farrant avoided prison because the court said the defendant is "taking steps to address his alcohol issues and should be given a chance".

He would also lose his accommodation and employment if he was sent to prison.

One parent was ordered to pay £716, another had to pay £70 and two more parents had to pay £408 after their children did not regularly attend different schools in Wiltshire.

Tony Steele, 52, of Roman Meadow in Downton, was ordered to pay £463 for littering a cigarette butt on Southampton Road, Salisbury, on March 15.

Elizabeth Caamody, 33, of Hazel Close, was also ordered to pay £463 for the same offence which took place on March 6.

Portsmouth Magistrates Court ordered him to pay £72.

On June 3, Allen was caught with an amount of amphetamine at the Nothern Police Investigation Centre in Basingstoke.

The drugs were forfeited and destroyed and Allen was fined £40.

Andrew Ward, 36, of Shears Drive in Amesbury, beat a man in Andover on August 15.

Basingstoke Magistrates Court handed him a 12-month community order during which he must complete 100 hours of unpaid work and 10 RAR days.

He must also pay £150 compensation to Mr Ferreira and £199 to the court.
