A CRIMINAL who was wanted by police for choking a woman on a train has been jailed.
Amos Eaglestone, of Exeter Street, was sentenced for a string of offences at Salisbury Magistrates Court on September 25.
The 27-year-old was found guilty of seven charges of various offences committed within nine months.
On October 10, 2022, Eaglestone stole items from Spar Stores and failed to surrender to custody at Salisbury Magistrates Court on February 23 after he was released on bail on January 18.
Then, on July 4, he assaulted William Harris and damaged a door belonging to Selwood Housing.
Eight days later Eaglestone interfered with a Citroen Saxo with the intention of committing theft and damaged a window belonging to Sovereign Housing.
Eaglestone's most serious offence, which landed him 20 weeks in prison, took place on June 16 inside a train at Warminster.
The defendant committed actual bodily harm in a domestic context against Jasmine Shaw during which he got her in a chokehold.
Magistrates ordered Eaglestone to pay £50 to William Harris and £100 to Sovereign Housing.
No restraining order was imposed because Ms Shaw, also known as Ms Clark, did not support the prosecution or request an order.
Magistrates felt it was not necessary or proportionate to impose an order taking everything into account.
