A BRAND new Caribbean-inspired food service has already been awarded a five out of five food hygiene grade and the owners are now 'living the dream' running their own business.
Yard Vibes Jerk was set up by married couple Carl and Freya Hamp on Friday, August 25 and it will be a family-orientated business.
Serving from a trailer located on Pullman Drive in Salisbury, the plan is to also attend various festivals or events eventually.
Carl is chef-trained. A trip to Jamaica for their honeymoon in 2017 ignited his passion for using his skills once more and setting up his own takeaway business.
Carl said: "We made friends with Jamaicans while we were there and I fell in love with the food. I came home and I wanted to eat what I had been eating there."
He travelled back to Jamaica to study.

Carl said: "It is as authentic as you can get. All the food is checked and smoked for so long over a low heat. We do jerk chicken, jerk pork, brown stew chicken and yard vibes lemonade. We are also looking to do vegetarian and vegan food.
"There are no preservatives or E numbers."
The Food Hygiene Standards Agency visited them just before the business officially opened.
Freya said: "I thought we would have to wait for our rating, didn't know how these things worked and I got a bit nervous, but she said we could have the rating now, and then, I got a bit more nervous but she said it was a five.
"We haven't started at the best time of the year for doing the events, but hopefully, next year, our name will be out there."

Carl and Freya are both trying to find their feet before extending the menu and expanding the business.
Food can be ordered through the website and collected on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.
Freya said: "We haven't even made it to 9pm as we sold out. We think we sell at a good price and are trying to be zero waste."
