A CAMPAIGN highlighting the dangers of overdose is coming to the city today.
CONNECT is holding a special event in the Maltings Car Park today (Friday, September 1). It follows the International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), which occurred yesterday, (Thursday, August 31).
The IOAD is the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose. It acknowledges the grief of the family and friends left behind while remembering those who died from overdose without stigma.

The campaign also recognises the people who often go unseen but may be affected by overdose through their profession, personal lives, or within the communities in which they live.
Fatalities from overdose can be avoided with the use of Naloxone, which is an opioid overdose reversal kit and CONNECT will be distributing Naloxone and holding training sessions.
The event takes place between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
