A Tesla electric car broke down at the Lyndhurst Road junction on the A36 at 2pm yesterday, was not able to be removed from the road until 9.30pm.
According to the landlord of the Landford Poacher Matt Grigg the obstruction caused delays for other road users throughout the day, as police and local workmen were unable to move the car.
The car was eventually was taken to the Landford Poacher for charging.
He said: "A number of local workmen along with the policeman attempted to push the car to safety, however despite their best efforts they could not move it. The obstruction caused delays through-out the rest of the day."
According to Mr Grigg, the car failed even though the gauge showed several miles left.
Mr Grigg said that the road was not clear of recovery vehicles until 11.15pm.
