AN ANNUAL scarecrow event returns to Amesbury this weekend ready to test the identification skills of participants.
The event has been set up by the Friends of Abbey Amesbury Church and the scarecrow trail is suitable for the whole family.
Committee member Angela Bayliss who has helped to organise the event said: "There will be about 30 scarecrows displayed in businesses and some residential settings around the centre."

The idea is for participants to work out who the scarecrows are supposed to be. The family or individual with the most correct suggestions will win a prize.
Angela added: "The committee will also choose a worthy winning scarecrow."

The cost is £5 for a family ticket and a single ticket is £1.50. Included in the ticket cost is a hot drink, soft drink or biscuit but there will also be a cake stall.
The event takes place in the town centre on Sunday, September 3 and starts at 2.30 pm at Wyndham Hall, Church Street, Amesbury. It is expected to finish at about 4pm.
The child-friendly event will help to raise important funds for restoration.
