Residents have said they are 'shocked' and 'upset' after a man in his 20s was murdered in Bemerton Heath.
Shortly before 12noon on Tuesday, August 22, a man in his 20s was stabbed in Gainsborough Close.
He was declared dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed. A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Wiltshire Police said: "Shortly before 12noon, we responded to a report that a man in his 20s had been stabbed in Gainsborough Close.
"Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was sadly declared dead at the scene."

Residents of Gainsborough Close have spoken to the Journal to express their emotions.
Saffron Gabriel, 20, a Gainsborough Close resident said: "We went to go see and everywhere was closed.
"It's quite terrifying really when we have kids that we want to play outside but you can't really let them.
"Someone told me what happened and I was like oh my god that's terrible."
Gary Rock, 58, said: "It's horrible. I have one of three biggest families on the Heath so I went to check it wasn't one of my lot.
"It's still upsetting. I've never seen anything like this around here."
Douglas Harding, 76, said: "There has been shouting and balling over the 46 years but nothing like this.
"In May I lost my wife, I'm on my own and it makes you think twice."

Livia Sobolevschi, 45, was at St Michael's Church when her son told her police were outside the house. "I'm in shock absolutely. We don't know what happened today and they don't say anything.
"We've been here for three years. We don't talk to people here so it's a little bit scary. I was in shock."
Her son said: "I heard a lot of shouting I thought it was regular. Looking out I saw police everywhere."
Barb, a nearby resident, said she "didn't see anything but saw a woman with green trousers crying".
Another resident said: "A lot has happened and it's not something you hear about in Salisbury."
