A woman has been sentenced by the courts over selling counterfeit designer items on Facebook following a private prosecution.
Chantelle Harrison, 38, pleaded guilty to four counts of unauthorised use of a trade mark in relation to goods.
She admitted the offences last month and was back before Poole Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced on Friday, August 18.
Court papers stated she had been prosecuted by TM Eye Ltd, an Essex-based operation which describes itself as one of the UK’s most active private investigation companies.
TM Eye Ltd launched an investigation in February 2022 and carried out three test purchases in relation to a counterfeit bag, sunglasses and scarf which contained the Louis Vuitton grade mark.
Harrison, whose address was given as Orchard Court, Verwood, received an 18-month community order, with a requirement to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work.
She was also ordered to pay a £114 surcharge.
TM Eye Ltd’s costs were to be paid from central funds, with the amount to be assessed, court papers said.
