The statement said: “The venue will close its Wonky Door for the last time on Bank Holiday Sunday, before it reopens in September under new ownership.”
Former The Chapel owners Amanda Newbery and her brother Jonty took ownership of the site in 2021, demolishing the former Alzheimer’s Society building to establish a courtyard and music venue.
At the time, Amanda had compared the motif for Brown Street to Pop Brixton in London.
Brown Street said on its social media that details would be published of the final events before closure on Sunday, August 27.
No date for the re-opening of the venue in September has been specified.
