Describing his photo in the Camera Club, Nick said: "Sadly I missed the peak of the shower due to good old clouds but I managed 2.5 nights either side and caught around 14, but a few were quite faint so left them out."Salisbury Journal: Nick Bull's amazing photo of the Perseids Meteor Shower over StonehengeNick Bull's amazing photo of the Perseids Meteor Shower over Stonehenge (Image: Nick Bull/Stonehenge Dronescapes)

The Perseids Meteor Shower will be active until August 24, it peaked between August 12 and August 13.

According to Royal Museums Greenwich, it is caused by the Earth "slamming into the debris left behind by comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle in July and August every year.

"It is called the Perseids because the meteors seem to originate from the constellation of Perseus.

"Astronomers call this point the meteor shower’s radiant."

The display is considered one of the best of the year because it produces bright meteors and is one of the most active.
