A 45-year-old man from Verwood was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Following police enquiries, the arrested man has been released without charge in relation to the offence of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

However, he remains under investigation in relation to the driving offence.

Inspector Craig Tatton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“After our initial investigation, we do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the male passenger exiting the vehicle and our enquiries are continuing into the driving offence.”
