A woman has died following a crash between two cars and a lorry on a main road in Wiltshire.
The woman, who was in her 70s, was involved in a collision between an HGV and two cars on the A36 near Upton Scudamore, at around 2pm on Friday, August 11.
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in the pile up.
The main route was closed overnight, and remained closed this morning, between Warminster and Chapmanslade.
During this time forensic collision investigators attended the scene and carried out enquiries into the incident.
Officers are now urging any witnesses or those with information to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A woman in her 70s has sadly died following a road traffic collision involving two cars and an HGV.
“Any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number POL-20230811-0199.
“Alternatively, contact the team directly on SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk.”
Police added that the victim’s next of kin have been informed.
National Highways estimated the closure would remain in place until mid-morning but are yet to confirm that the road has reopened.
