A 15-year-old racer is gearing up to compete in a competition at his home circuit.
Kieran Roberts, from Salisbury, will race his Citroen Saxo in the Junior Saloon Car Championship at Thruxton's summer festival this weekend (July 29 and 30).
Leading the independents, Kieran is currently 9th place in the championship overall and hopes to eventually make a career out of racing Formula 1.
His passion for the sport started when he was just seven years old, watching his Uncle Matthew become the Mini Cooper Pro Class Champion in 2017.
Kieran told the Journal he loves being able to drive "well over 100 miles per hour" on the circuit despite being unable to drive on public roads.
"I really love it and I cannot believe how lucky I have been at such a young age," he added.

Initially, Kieran participated in karting before progressing to cars at the age of 14.
Mum Tracy said this is where his passion is and that he "loves the adrenaline".
She added: "I’m very proud but it’s very scary watching him, my heart goes in my mouth. You’re leaving him in the hands of the circuit and the marshalls.
"I’m thankful he is lucky enough to have the opportunity because not everyone can."
Being an independent driver means Kieran is not part of a racing team and depends upon his Dad and Uncle for technical support.
Tracy described the strategy in the sport as "secretive" since drivers in larger teams share and compare data.

Since Kieran can't do this, improving involves "trial and error".
Kieran is currently sponsored by Roberts Building Contractors Ltd, Toogoods Property Group, Travis Perkins, Howdens & Sydenhams.
