A man has been jailed after burgling a home near Salisbury.

Sonnie Kerley, 33, of Bishop Row, Longhedge, pleaded guilty at a hearing at Salisbury Crown Court on Thursday, July 13.

He received a three-year jail sentence and will be required to pay a court surcharge of £228.

On Wednesday, May 17, at around 3.30pm, Kerley was seen by neighbours targeting a house in Homington.

He was then tracked by a member of the public, who was subsequently able to provide a detailed description of him.

Kerley was swiftly arrested by officers and the stolen property, which included cash and a sentimental gold chain, was returned to the victim.
