MONTHS of persistent fly-tipping on Bemerton Heath has left residents dismayed, with one woman telling the Journal "I don't want to live like this".
Glyndebourne Close runs from Gainsborough Close up to Woodside Road and on a patch of grass outside of one block of flats on Friday morning, clearly visible, were three mattresses, headboards, an armchair, a TV unit, and a fridge.
Speaking to this newspaper, Liz Garland said: “Some of the items which were here for ages have just been collected but this is what is left. It has been like this for about two months.
“People come in the middle of the night and just dump their things. I was told by the estate office to take a video but it’s during the night and they won’t put up CCTV.”

Liz said that the fly-tipping has happened a few times since she has lived there but it is not the only place that it happens.
“They usually come out quite quickly to remove items but this time, it has taken a couple of months. It feels sometimes that people don’t care."
She added: “I feel so gutted. I get so upset. I don’t want to live like this. It isn’t the people who live here who are doing this.
"When it's left like this, it just encourages more people to dump their things and more and more start to appear. We have had so many mattresses left.
"This is a fire hazard."

A second fly-tipping area could be seen further down Glyndebourne Close.
One resident who did not wish to be named said: “I thought this was a good area but now, it’s getting worse. It is depressing and makes you feel like the area is bad.
“We don’t have gardens and sometimes, it might be nice to come out here and sit on the grass, but you don’t know what has been left. It makes you not want to sit here.
“It isn’t the people who live here doing this. Vans come down here through the night and stuff is left”
