A PRIMARY school in Amesbury has been rated as 'excellent' in all areas following its recent inspection.
Staff, parents and pupils at Amesbury Primary School are celebrating the outcome of a recent The Church Schools’ inspection, which took place on June 12 and has recently been published.
The school joined Magna Learning Partnership, a multi-academy trust in December, and has been transformed.
The inspection praises that ‘miraculous’ and ‘life-changing’ transformation, saying the school bears no resemblance to its position prior to academisation.
It also highlights the work done this year by the ‘exceptional leadership team’.
Headteacher Rachael Rogers, who joined the school at the start of the academic year, is delighted with the report.
She said: "This outcome underlines the hard work and effort put in by staff and pupils alike since last September.
"I am so pleased to receive this very positive recognition of what we have achieved in a relatively short time, including the celebration of our work with our families and within our local community, which is very important to us.
"To be told that what we have achieved is nothing short of exceptional puts a very large smile on all our faces. We will continue to work hard to realise the transformation through year-on-year improved outcomes for our children; this report spurs us on to even greater things!’
The inspector also commented on the ‘excellent Christian worship’ as the ‘heartbeat’ of the school community, where ‘behaviour and engagement are outstanding’.
Sarah Busby, CEO of Magna Learning Partnership, said: "Amesbury Primary is a very special school which has had some specific challenges in recent times.
"This report is the rubber stamp on what we knew had happened over the course of this year. Rachael and her team are already working with other schools in the trust and we look forward to seeing Amesbury continue to flourish as an excellent Church School in our trust."
The report also reflected the ‘pursuit of academic rigour’ together with a ‘wisely paced’ improvement plan has ‘set the course for a continuing upward trajectory’.
The report contains many positive comments about the pupils, who are proud of their achievements.
Events at the school such as the recent celebration for the King’s coronation, when 500 people attended and the pupils’ immediate and sensitive response to the victims of a local fire are praised in the report as examples of the ‘daily lived out experience’ reflecting the school’s values.
