The search continues for the owner of a Devon Rex cat that was handed into Endell Pet Vets last week after being found wandering around the Milton Road area.
As of writing, the initial Facebook post from Friday, July 7 asking the public for help in finding the feline’s family has been shared 207 times and a follow-up post from Monday, July 10 has been shared 423 times.
Devon Rex is a rare breed that has only existed since 1960, according to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy.
All Devon Rex cats can trace their ancestry back to a cat named Kirlee from Buckfastleigh who was killed in a car accident in 1970.

On its Facebook account on Friday July 7, Endell Pet Vets said the found cat, whom the vet has dubbed Crinkle, is “very affectionate” and has been “microchipped but it has not been registered- we have contacted the implanter to no avail.”
Endell Pet Vets practice manager Theresa Smith said the vet is not currently looking to rehome Crinkle, as it must allow more time for the owner or owners to come forward.
Theresa said: “We have a seven-to-14-day period where we need to allow the owner to come forward.”
