THE home of the Odeon Cinema in Salisbury has been put up for sale.
The Hall of John Halle, at 15 New Canal Street & 26 Catherine Street, is to be sold at the forthcoming Acuitus commercial property auction on Thursday, July 13.
The building has been operating as a cinema since 1931 and benefits from a long unbroken lease with the tenant up until 2089.
The 31,969-sq ft property currently produces an annual rental income of £64,422 and has a guide price of £850,000+.

David Margolis of Acuitus said: “Located in the heart of the city’s retailing centre and close to the main entrance to Old George Mall, this is a unique property which also offers investors long-term, sustainable income.”
The Grade I listed building built by influential wool merchant and mayor of Salisbury John Halle in the 1470s.
John Halle was admitted as a Member of the Common Council in Salisbury in 1446, became Alderman in 1448 and was made Constable of New Street Ward in 1449. He was elected Mayor in 1451, 1458, 1464 and 1465. John Halle died in 1479,
The Hall of John Halle was also used as an inn and from 1816 to 1819 was part of the printing offices of the Wiltshire Gazette.
It is one of the oldest existing buildings in Salisbury.
The Acuitus auction will take place on Thursday July 13th at 2pm. It will be broadcast via livestream on the Acuitus website and offers online, telephone and proxy bidding.
