Tisbury Fire Station will be inviting the public to meet firefighters and see an array of operational vehicles as it hosts an open day to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 1 from 10am to 4pm.
Crew manager Matt Mullins said: “It’s free to come in, but obviously we’re hoping that people will spend lots on the different attractions. We will have a wide range of displays about the Fire and Rescue Service, refreshments and demonstrations. It would also be great to see anyone thinking about joining the crew here at Tisbury as an on-call firefighter.”
The displays will include multiple fire engines, both modern and vintage, equipment used for water rescue< animal rescue and vintage firefighting equipment.
Firefighters will also be putting on a variety of drills throughout the day, including road traffic collision extrication and live fire demos using pumps and ladders.
