AN animal rescue home's longest-stayer is looking for a rural home after being isolated in an apartment and spending a year at a rescue shelter.
Four-year-old Louie the Bengal has had very little human contact since his elderly owner kept him indoors before becoming too ill to look after him.
He spent all his young life cooped up in a tower block apartment in Southampton before being rescued in 2022.

Because of this, Louie has no road sense and is looking for a country home away from busy roads and other cats where he would be safe to explore outside.
Louie has been patiently waiting for a new owner for more than one year at St Francis Animal Welfare in Fair Oak.
Bengals are highly intelligent, active cats who need to be free to roam and Louie became fed up with being restricted to his pen.
Louie's ideal home would have no other cats, dogs or children with an experienced owner who would gradually accustom him to a normal cat's life.

Shelter manager Katie O'Brien said: "Louie is initially wary of people but has learned to respond to his carers and certainly loves whoever has a bag of Dreamies or his favourite Catnip.
"He will enjoy some fuss with people he has learned to trust but really needs someone with the patience and understanding to appreciate this lovely boy."
