RESIDENTS have started moving into new homes built on an old football field.
Construction of the 50-house development Pembroke Gardens, in Alderbury, is well underway.
The land previously belonged to Alderbury Football Club, which relocated to a neighbouring site.
Linden Homes, the developer, has sold 50 per cent of the homes and 11 homes have been finished so far.

Sales manager Lisa King said "excellent" progress is being made, adding: “Alderbury is a close and thriving community and this development has sparked a lot of interest among people who already live in the village and the nearby area.
“For some it has presented an opportunity to stay in the place they love yet find a home that suits them better."
According to Ms King, buyers like the "small scale" of the development as they want to keep the "village feel".
Pembroke Gardens features 39 houses for private sale. Of these, 14 have been sold, and work has finished on six with one now occupied.

The development also includes 11 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership. Construction is complete on five of these and one is now occupied.
The development plans include public open space and a play trail for children.
A new building for Alderbury and West Grimstead Pre-school and a new hut for the 1st Alderbury Guides will also be provided.
Linden Homes is part of Vistry Group, which also includes Bovis Homes.
