A MAN has been charged after he was allegedly found with an imitation firearm in a city car park.

James Willett, of Southampton Road, Whaddon, was charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place, possessing cannabis and being concerned with the supply of a class A drug.

The 18-year-old was remanded in custody by Wiltshire Police officers when they attended Lode Hill Caravan Site following reports.

Willett allegedly had an imitation firearm in Culver Street Car Park on April 21.

He was also allegedly concerned with supplying 3.5g of cocaine to Daniel Walker in Tidworth on May 12.

Then, officers allegedly caught Willett with a quantity of cannabis and cannabis resin at Lode Hill Caravan Site in Downton on Thursday, June 8.

He was due to appear in Salisbury Magistrates Court today, Friday, June 9.

Detective inspector Matt Smith said: "People may have been aware of police activity in the area of Lode Hill yesterday when the arrest was made.

"I want to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident."
