I wanted to add my congratulations to everyone behind the promenade performance of The Tempest, from the director and the professional and community casts to the volunteer ushers who all created a magical atmosphere in the heart of the city.
The creativity behind the staging, set design and lighting was so impressive but what was really special was the involvement of the city and its community throughout the evening.
The use of Churchill Gardens was inspired. I loved seeing the kids on the skate park before the performance got underway and the sight of people going for a walk in the park while we, the audience were immersed on the imaginary island.
Salisbury excels when it delivers something quirky and unexpected as we saw with the Grayson Perry exhibition in the cathedral, so I’m looking forward to what’s next.
