A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attempted rape in a countryside alley.
Police were called to the incident in Mill Lane, Stratford sub Castle, shortly after 11am today (June 1) in response to a reported assault.
One man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape of a teenage girl and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
A police helicopter circled the area for roughly 30 minutes while the area was searched and one dog handler was seen on Stratford Road.
Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses.
A force spokesperson said: "Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call us on 101 quoting log 110 of today’s date (01/06)."
