Pizza Venti is once more upping its own game with the addition of an award-winning chef.
Marcel Roman, 35, has been cooking pizza since he was a teenager and went to study the craft in Italy when he was 18.
He has since worked in the Netherlands, where he simultaneously served as chef for four locations of Happy Italy, the largest pizzeria chain in the country, and his native Romania, where he was an executive chef at Trickshot in Bucharest.
Marcel was named the winner of the “Most Creative Pizza” category at the Romanian Association of Professional Pizzerias in 2018.

Marcel’s first day at Pizza Venti was on Friday, May 12. All the dough is made from scratch and prepared the night before for the next day.
Marcel said: “We make all the beautiful dough here. I love it. It’s my job. That’s why I’m so proud, because I do it with love.”
Marcel said he is happy to become a member of the team at Pizza Venti and help owners Alex and Maria Popescu grow the business and make it a valued part of Salisbury.
He said: “[Alex] wants to make something special for the people, and this is also what I want. He has been talking about quality and I’m also the same. I love quality.”
After a temporary cost-saving measure that saw the business open only on Fridays and weekends, Pizza Venti has reopened its doors for Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Marcel can be found in the kitchen all five days each week, and said he plans to introduce new pizzas on the menu soon.
