A DRIVER was hospitalised following a crash involving three horses after they were running loose on a main road.
Police received reports of horses running along the A36 and responded to the crash at around 11pm last night (Sunday, May 29).
The three horses involved in the crash, which took place between Stapleford and Steeple Langford, died at the scene.
One driver was hospitalised as a precaution after suffering minor injuries.
The road had to be closed for a number of hours.
Another horse was tracked down and safely contained while the owners were contacted.
This incident comes just one month after 10 horses escaped a field and ran more than one mile up the A36.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "If you see anything that could cause a road traffic collision, or anything suspicious please contact us on 101 or in an emergency 999."
The road was reopened on Monday morning, May 29.
