A 27-year-old man has died and a 55-year-old man remains in hospital following a car crash on the A360.
Emergency services first arrived on the scene north of Salisbury at approximately 7.30pm on Thursday, May 25.
The incident involved a Toyota Corolla and a Renault Traffic van.
Firefighters worked to stabilise one of the vehicles and helped paramedics with casualty care.
Although the fatal collision was between two vehicles, reports dispute whether other vehicles may have been involved in the incident.
Ben Fitzgerald, of Wiltshire Police, said: "The collision was between two vehicles - the exact sequence of events and whether it involved other vehicles is something our Serious Collision Investigation Team are investigating."
The A360 remained closed in both directions between The Avenue and Church Bottom on the morning following the crash.
South Western Ambulance Service confirmed on the morning of Friday, May 26 that two people had been transported to Salisbury District Hospital.
Wiltshire Police said on the morning of May 26 that the 27-year-old man was found dead at the scene of the crash while the 55-year-old man, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, is being treated in hospital for serious injuries.
Police are appealing to the public for any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident.
