Three additional days of strike action will affect services on Southwestern Railway (SWR) routes on Wednesday, May 31, Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3.
The May 31 and June 3 strikes will be carried out by members of the ASLEF (Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen) train drivers’ union, while the June 2 strike action will be carried out by RMT members.
SWR specified the following schedule changes for each day of strike action:
Wednesday, May 31
- There will be a reduced service between London Waterloo and Chessington South; Dorking; Hampton Court; London Waterloo via Hounslow; London Waterloo via Kingston; Reading; Shepperton; Twickenham; Weybridge; and Windsor & Eton Riverside
- A shuttle service will operate between Basingstoke and Exeter St Davids, with customers travelling between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo required to change at Basingstoke
- A reduced service will operate in the Romsey area
- There will be no service on the Island Line
Friday, June 2
A significantly reduced service will operate between 0700 and 1900 only and large parts of the network will be closed.
The following services will operate:
- London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside via Hounslow (two trains per hour)
- London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside via Twickenham (two trains per hour)
- London Waterloo to Woking (four trains per hour)
- London Waterloo to Southampton Central (two trains per hour)
- London Waterloo to Basingstoke (two trains per hour)
- Salisbury to Basingstoke (one train per hour)
- Guildford to Woking (one train per hour)
Saturday, June 3
Services will not start until 7.30am due to the RMT strike action the day before.
SWR has announced the following changes on this date:
- There will be a reduced service between London Waterloo and Chessington South; Dorking; Hampton Court; London Waterloo via Hounslow; London Waterloo via Kingston; Reading; Shepperton; Twickenham; Weybridge; and Windsor & Eton Riverside
- A shuttle service will operate between Basingstoke and Yeovil Junction, with customers travelling between Yeovil Junction and London Waterloo required to change at Basingstoke
- A reduced service will operate in the Romsey area
- There will be no service on the Island Line
SWR further advised that journey planners will have been appropriately modified to reflect the May 31 strike action changes as of Saturday, May 27, although journey planners may not reflect the changes for the other dates until June 2.
