AN annual music festival hosted at a community farm is set to kickstart an array of live summer events.

Live@TheFarm, a one-day live music festival, will be held at River Bourne Community Farm on Sunday, May 28.

Gates to the family-friendly fundraising event open from 2.30pm, with music starting at 3pm and finishing at 10pm.

There will be two music stages to keep the music going all day.

Top-class tribute acts will be headling the main stage, including Aladdinsane, a David Bowie tribute, and Absolutely Elton, an Elton John tribute band.

Joining them on that stage will be Davey Jones Locker, Rockport Blues, Lauren & Hardy.

The Salisbury Live stage showcases local musical talent and includes bands Pronghorn, Pyeshoppe, Signature Vision and The Clueless Queers to name a few.

There will be plenty of food vans for all diets and entertainment for children.

Guests will not be allowed to bring alcohol this year and a thorough bag search will take place at the gates, however, alcohol can be bought at the venue.

Events manager Sara-Jane Hancock, from River Bourne Community Farm, said the decision to disallow alcohol was taken to improve safety and to raise more funds for the free attraction.

She said: "Funds go toward running the farm and feeding the animals.

"It's important to us to offer this facility to everyone but it relies on raising money through events like this."

The event has been running for 10 years and alcohol has been allowed previously, but money has been spent on upgrading the bar this time around.

The farm is expecting up to 4,000 people to attend this year's event.

Tickets will be available for sale on the day at £15 for adults and £4 for children, however, guests can save money by buying advanced tickets from seetickets.com/event/live-thefarm-2023/river-bourne-community-farm/2582577.

Under 18's must be accompanied by adults to be permitted to the event and children under the age of two can enter for free.

Dogs are also permitted but Sara-Jane is warning owners to keep them on a lead at all times and to tidy up after them.

River Bourne Community Farm is also hosting the Old Time Sailors in their big barn on Sunday, July 11. Tickets for this event are also on sale, available here.
