VOLUNTEERS from a care group presented donation cheques to local causes.

Two Bridges Care Group, a voluntary organisation in Fordingbridge, helps people with health problems by transporting them to and from medical appointments and collecting their prescriptions.

It covers the Fordingbridge, Alderholt, Fordingbridge, Godshill and Sandleheath areas.

On Friday, April 28, chairman Karl Jung donated cheques to two groups.

Diana Roumila and Laura Cowdery from Avon Community Matters, a charity shop in Fordingbridge High Street, were handed a £1,000 cheque.

A further £500 was given to Olive Baker, Ron Mathitis and Ann Pye of the Fordingbridge Friendship Group.
